Owlmoon padded out of camp, along the trail to the bee hive. Her stock of honey was running low, and she didn't want to take chances with any coughing cats. The buzzing grew louder as she approached the hive. It dangled from a low branch on a huge oak. Owlmoon leaped onto the bark and slowly worked her way up to the branch. On her way up, she snapped a twig off the tree held it in her mouth as she climbed. As she reached the branch, she slowly stalked toward the hive. She knew she couldn't just destroy it. This was the clan's only supply of honey and she really wasn't in the mood to run away from an angry mob of bees. Owlmoon knew she had to do it fast. She carefuly took the twig and shoved it into the hive, then drew it out. It dripped the precious honey onto the soft pine needles that covered the forest floor. No time to lose, she thought. She sped off before the bees had any time to chase her.
